Telion Construction was honored to partner with the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation to build a fully accessible, ADA-compliant smart home for a wounded police officer in Denton, Texas.
This custom home was designed and constructed to meet strict accessibility standards while also addressing unique site conditions and performance requirements. The project required a higher level of planning, coordination, and execution than a typical residential build.
In addition to full ADA and smart home integration, several specialized systems and site considerations were incorporated throughout the project.
• Full ADA-compliant layout with widened doorways, accessible clearances, and barrier-free transitions throughout the home
• VA-compliant design considerations to support long-term accessibility and independence
• Integrated smart home system for lighting, climate, security, and accessibility control
• Fire suppression system installed throughout the home for enhanced safety and code compliance
• Oversized lot requiring custom site development, grading, and drainage solutions
• Engineered swales and drainage systems to properly manage water flow and protect the structure
• Structural planning and layout adjustments to accommodate accessibility requirements without compromising design
• Energy-efficient systems and materials to support long-term performance and reduced operating costs
Projects like this require more than standard construction practices. They demand careful coordination between design, engineering, and field execution to ensure every system works together properly.
This build reflects Telion Construction’s ability to take on complex projects that require precision, problem-solving, and a commitment to doing the job the right way.
